Jimothy Dyck vs. Werewolf


Jimothy Dyck vs. Werewolf is a D&D-style collaborative writing game.


Rules of Engagement


  • Attack length: 50–100 words per turn or a two-minute writing prompt

  • Winning condition: A six-sided die (D6) determines the winner. The battle resets after a fatal strike

  • Characters: Writers may submit attacks for Jimothy or the werewolf

Scene Setup


  • Jimothy Dyck is a high school student

  • He cuts through Banger Hall on his way to class

  • Jimothy inadvertently bumps into Benny, a metalhead loitering by the lockers

  • Jimothy spills his books and papers across the floor

  • “Hey! Watch where you’re going, Jimothy!” Benny shouts. He gets really mad and transforms into a werewolf

  • The werewolf is eight feet tall with a five-foot reach from shoulder to claw

  • Jimothy and the werewolf are transported to a battle arena in the woods

  • The confrontation unfolds in a clearing under moonlit night


Attack 1: Werewolf Attacks Jimothy – “Werewolf Attack”


  • Jimothy’s only weapon is a fifteen-foot spear tipped with a razor-sharp silver blade

  • The spear is lightweight and flexible but difficult to control

  • Jimothy crouches low, hiding the spear in a tuft of grass

  • He is cool as a cucumber as the werewolf rushes toward him, snarnling and gnashing his teeth

  • Jimothy has one chance to impale the werewolf

  • The werewolf lunges, ready to rip Jimothy's throat out

  • Jimothy lifts the spear at the last second while the werewolf is mid-air.


Does the werewolf fall upon the silver blade? Roll the die to find out (need 6 for a fatal strike).

Attack 2: Jimothy Attacks Werewolf – “Crouching Ninja, Hidden Werewolf”


  • The battle intensifies

  • Jimothy fends off the werewolf with the spear, performing acrobatic ninja moves like in the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

  • The spear is powerful at a distance but ineffective in close combat

  • Jimothy attempts a fatal whipping strike


Does the fatal whipping strike kill the werewolf? Roll the die to find out (need 5 or higher).

Attack 3: Werewolf Attacks Jimothy – “Kill ’Em with Kindness”


  • The werewolf closes in

  • Jimothy is cornered, exhausted, and defenceless

  • The werewolf bakes Jimothy a poison berry pie. It smells oh so yummy. The werewolf pours Jimothy a glass of milk and serves him a nice piece of poison berry pie

  • Jimothy licks his lips and takes a huge bite of the poison berry pie - the secret ingredient is... poison!


Does Jimothy die from the poison berry pie? Roll the die to find out (need 4 or higher).

Attack 4: Jimothy Attacks Werewolf – “Stink Cloud!”


  • The poison berry pie was soo good Jimothy scarfed it down in one bite. Mmm!

  • His tum-tum starts to rumble. Jimothy doesn't feel so good

  • Jimothy yanks his underwear down, aims his butt at the werewolf, and lets out the biggest fart ever

  • The fart cloud is so stinky the werewolf barfs his guts out


Does the werewolf die from Jimothy's stinky fart cloud?Roll the die to find out (need 3 or higher).


Die Roll: 6 → Attack successful


Jimothy wins the werewolf battle!


Resolution


  • Jimothy and Benny are transported back to school

  • "Sorry, man!" Jimothy is super embarrassed about bumping into Benny

  • Benny pauses, watching Jimothy scramble to pick up his stuff. He feels kind of bad for being so hard on Jimothy. Maybe he's having a bad day, Benny thinks

  • "Are you okay?" Benny asks, handing Jimothy his notebook

  • "That was awesome!" Jimothy replied with a huge grin
